Jerry Springer on Hannity

Jerry Springer

Jerry Springer is about as far left a wing-nut as there is and last night he was on the Sean Hannity program on the Fox News Channel.  I didn’t watch the whole show, but I did watch the segment where Hannity had Springer and Radio Talk Show Host Bill Cunningham on.

While I don’t Give Springer any credit for intelligent thought regarding our Country’s problems, I will give him credit for giving insight to the mindset that drives much of the left in this country.

Most liberals, (progressives as they like to call themselves) have difficulty relating their viewpoint and why it makes sense to them.  They either rant and rave to the point you simply can’t understand them, or they really know how stupid their ideas sound and so they obfuscate.  Either way they are convinced they are right in their thinking and no amount of rational thought will interefere with that.  I will give Springer credit for being honest and articulating his rationale.

According to Springer reducing the size of government will cause massive unemployment.  Springer said there is no way the private sector can provide the jobs that would be lost by downsizing the government and laying off workers and the government has to provide those jobs.  The stimulus was way too small and should have been much larger.

It is very clear from Springer’s viewpoint the left believes the country can prosper by the government employing people who will then in turn pay taxes and not draw unemployment.  The problem with this thinking is that its like the movie theater manager deciding that his 1/2 full theater can make up the take by doubling the ticket price.  The fact that it will create an incentive for patrons to avoid the theater is not considered at all and they are surprised when the take is even less than it was before the increased price.

Basic principles show that when the private sector is not too hampered by regulation and tax it grows and with it jobs are created.  It also shows that when people are laid off they will hold onto their benefits for as long as they can before they accept a job at a lesser rate of pay.  Sometimes adversity creates opportunity and incentive.

The left will never understand this and unless we can motivate our youth to be more self determining we will continue to decline as a nation until we are no more.
